Grace Wears was originally a blog started by Grace Hudson-Evans to document her love of clothes, clothes shopping and vintage clothes. She is now turning her hand to designing and her first product at the heart of the collection is a pair of palazzo pants based on a vintage design. Grace uses carefully sourced silks with an emphasis on colour to create beautifully crafted pieces for customers of every age with a taste for fun in fashion.
Washing Instructions
Grace Wears garments are delicate items made using high quality fine silk and wool fabrics and cottons, therefore we recommend that you treat our garments with love and have them cleaned only by professionals.
To remove creases between washes, gently steam with an iron.
We encourage you to wash and dry clean items as little as possible. Sometimes airing something or brushing it down is enough to keep it clean!
Technical Information
Our products are made to the highest possible standards, mainly using 100% silk, satin or crepe de chine, wool or cotton. We are proud to produce our collections in London where each garment is individually constructed by a highly skilled team and meticulously checked for quality and measurement control.
Size and Fit
Currently our clothes are produced in three standard sizes. We are hoping to extend our sizing range this year.
Small - UK 8/10
Medium - UK 10/12
Large - UK 12/14
Palazzo Pants: They are designed to be worn on the waist and fall to the ankle. Due to the elastic waist they can be worn higher or lower as desired.
The trousers are designed to be worn with a loose fit.
Sustainability
We make every effort to be a ‘slow fashion’ brand and are constantly trying to find ways of improving our carbon footprint and operating in an ethical manner. We make our clothes in small runs. We personally know all the people who make our products and they are paid a proper wage, in a safe working environment. We have an ethical supply chain. All of our clothing products are made in London so there is no freight involved in their transportation. We often use ends of bolts of fabric, we use our off-cuts where possible so there is minimal waste. Our plain silks are a natural fibre (made by silkworms that feed from renewable Mulberry trees) and safely dyed with no harmful chemicals. Our feathers are a by-product of the British meat industry. Our Blanket Coats are made from repurposed wool blankets. Our cotton is high quality GOTS Organic or similar and printed in the UK. All of our packaging is recycled and recyclable. A tree is planted every time we order our reams of tissue paper! Where possible, we hand deliver orders. It is hugely important to us that Grace Wears clothes are properly made and designed to stand the test of time and to transcend fashions, so that they are staples in your wardrobe and not something to be thrown in to landfill. As far as we are concerned, sustainability is a prerequisite for being in business and not a trend. We are not yet 100% perfect but believe that small steps make a huge impact.
